we miss you father david
I miss you Uncle David, but we will miss you when we have family gatherings. I wrote a song just for you: My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion
Every night in my dreams
I see you, i feel you,
That is how i know you go on
Far across the distance
And spaces between us
You have come to show you go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
Love can touch us one time
And last for a lifetime
And never let go till we're gone
Love was when i loved you
One true time i hold to
In my life we'll always go on
Near, far, wherever you are
I believe that the heart does go on
Once more you open the door
And you're here in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
You're here, there's nothing i fear,
And i know that my heart will go on
We'll stay forever this way
You are safe in my heart
And my heart will go on and on
From your loving nephew,
Timothy Thexeira

My cousin the only catholic Priest in the family died on the 13th December 2007 at 11.40pm.He was only 51yrs old.
Death beckoned him with outstretched hand
But he was not afraid to go.He took death's hand without a fear for Jesus lovingly took him home.Jesus promised Fr David that he would show him the way home into haven.
Guided by our Father's hand Rev Fr David Thexeria journeyed to the promised land .Fr David Thexeria is free from all suffering and pain.We know that his love will always be with us and that he is happy and free now .We love you David and we will miss you.Thank you God for Fr David Thexeria.
Today, I had the privillege of meeting Fr Michal van Gitner, the new priest at St Francis of Assisi,Boon Lay. I refused to compare Fr Michal to David. Father David was way too special to be compared to anyone. Like all things gone, I do miss my friend-David. He never pulled rank on me as the priest but he took me by the hand and showed me love, compassion and most importantly gave me a listening year. Most of all he was never judgemental of my wayward ways.
Needless to say, Father David has been given a special place in my home along with other great people past. On a similar token, I ask for all your prayers for Fr Michal to rise to the ocassion. May we too be patient with him like we did with Fr David. Today after David's passing, I realised how special our religous are. I have taken them for granted! You should have been there at Boon Lay after the New year's Vigil Mass. The Altar Servers' Ministry had a get together with all the servers' parents. It then dawned on us through the sharing of the "gift of Fr David" and his impact on us all in less than a year.
The nuns present on that night shared that when Fr David gave a homily, some of the senior nuns residing at St Josephs Home actually took notes to ponder over.
Some time last year, the church in Boon Lay celebrated the Golden Jubilee of two Nuns. The main celebrant was Fr David - one man show. I remember commenting to my wife that it was unfair that the Archbishop was not present to celebrate this momentous ocassion. Later, as it turned out, I was glad that it was Fr David who celebrated the mass. The joyous nuns who had reached a milestone were so happy with Fr David that they were speaking back to him during the homily. It was for me, a very HAPPY mass. Fr David engaged them from the pulpit throughout the mass and the congregation was breaking out in applause and merry laughter during the Eucharistic Celebration. Fr David was so hearty and lively that it may well be a Mass to go down in my life as one of the most joyous, interactive in lively conversation but not lacking in its spiritual essence.
You should have seen Fr David hugging the two nuns when presenting them with the Plaque from the Holy Father in Rome.
In 11 months he has left me with much to remember for the rest of my life. Did you all know that Fr David was an advocate of the Archdiocese for couples wishing to seek an annulment? They had to be interviewed at length by him before he put forth his case to the Archbishop. For all those married couples out there, this is what Fr David has to say,"getting married is easy but staying married is a gift from God". He said at one of my many private conversations with him at the back of his office. He also spoke of a man - a real life billionaire in Australia who had all the money in the world but was bedridden and could not help himself. Fr David and another priest used to go this man's mansion twice a day to help him bathe, eat, turn him over in bed. Fr David through his many conversations had many a humbling experience. Through to the teachings of Christ, Fr David did not come to be served but came to serve!
Mr Colman, thanks for sharing :)
I was not extremely close to fr. thexeira but i feel that a part of me has been lost ever since he passed on. I guess it's probably because of the fact that I was in his first confirmand batch at St Francis. I miss him dearly and always think about him. I miss you, Father Thexeira. - Jon, 15
